There is always hope for change when people are committed to moving forward together every day, without exception. We call this steadfast commitment our "20 Mile March," inspired by Jim Collins' book Good to Great. At Fulcrum, we pledge to show up passionately every day, dedicated to our work and each other, no matter the challenges we face.

We hope you had a wonderful time celebrating the Super Bowl with friends and family!
The FULcrew celebrated last week with trivia, snacks, and Super Bowl Squares, with all donations going to the Massachusetts Sickle Cell Association.

In 2025, our Medical Affairs work focused on delivering on our commitment to patients through meaningful scientific exchange. At Fulcrum, we know that behind every data presentation is a patient waiting for progress.
Through congresses, advisory boards, and ongoing dialogue, we worked alongside clinicians to deepen the shared understanding of sickle cell disease. These interactions are vital because they ensure our science remains grounded in the real-world needs of the patient community.
We’re grateful to the partners who challenge our ideas and share insights that help us move closer to our goal of improving the lives of patients with sickle cell disease. Thank you for a productive year. We look forward to 2026!

As we look back on 2025, we’re reminded that advocacy is powered by people and strengthened through connection. This year, those connections showed up in powerful ways across the sickle cell community through meaningful conversations, impactful collaborations, and shared moments of learning and growth.
We are incredibly grateful to the advocates, partners, and families who made this work possible. Your voices, leadership, and trust continue to inspire us. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together and excited to carry this momentum into 2026.

Today, as we honor #MLKDay, we reflect on Dr. King’s words about injustice in healthcare. His message still matters.
Sickle cell disease continues to disproportionately impact marginalized communities, where gaps in access, understanding, and care shape daily life. At Fulcrum, advancing sickle cell research means keeping equity and patient voices at the center.
Thank you, Dr. King, for your words and your example.

Looking back on 2025, it’s clear that some of our best moments were built together.
Thank you to the FULcrew for the energy, care, creativity, and connection you bring to every day. We’re grateful for the memories we made and even more excited for what’s ahead.
Happy New Year!

Happy Holidays from the FULcrew ❄️🍪
We celebrated the season with our annual cookie swap. It’s one of our favorite ways to wrap up the year as a team.

Advocacy is connection. And this year reminded us just how powerful those connections can be. From summits to community events, we were honored to meet and reconnect with so many extraordinary people in the sickle cell community.

At our recent All Hands, we were proud to celebrate Payton Huysman as the recipient of the Robert J. Gould Award.
Her commitment to Fulcrum’s Core Values, her habit of going above and beyond, and her steady dedication made her a standout teammate whose work elevated our entire community.
Congratulations, Payton!

Last week, the FULcrew had the chance to learn and connect at the MA Conference for Women. Simone Biles spoke about perseverance, Mel Robbins shared practical tools for confidence, and thousands of women from across Massachusetts came together to learn, grow, and support one another.
It was great for the FULcrew to connect and take in the day together. We left feeling inspired by the stories, the energy, and the community that made the experience so impactful.

Over the past few months, we’ve been excited to welcome several new faces to the FULcrew. To all our new teammates - welcome! We’re thrilled to have you.
From patient to future physician, Hanif’s journey shows what hope and healing can look like for the sickle cell community.
